OBJECTIVE
The project aims to improve the health and well-being of the population in the Boulmiougou District through nutritional and hygiene-related interventions.
MMI activities
- Implementation of refresher courses for staff from 6 Health Centers and mobile health workers on nutrition, hygiene, and programs for screening and managing cases of malnutrition
- Organization of informational sessions on proper nutrition and hygiene for women and mothers
- Conducting cooking demonstrations for women and mothers
- Identification and referral to Health Centers of cases of moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) and severe acute malnutrition (SAM) in children
- Management of moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) cases in children through the provision of fortified foods
- Home visits for follow-up (counseling and possible referral to Health Centers) of moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) cases
- Food and hygiene support for displaced persons and families in vulnerable situations
BENEFICIARIES
The direct beneficiaries will be:
2,700 children with moderate acute malnutrition (MAM);
300 children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM);
4,320 mothers;
300 individuals in vulnerable conditions (approximately 60 families);
75 community-based social and health workers;
6 nurses from the health centers.
The indirect beneficiaries will be 89,812 women of reproductive age and 50,360 children aged 0 to 5 years in the target areas of the Boulmiougou Health District.
